Counselling Supervision
Supervision provides counsellors with the time and space to explore your practice in confidence. I base my supervision work on the Seven eyed supervision model (Hawkins and Shohet, 2012). This supports you to reflect on the therapeutic relationship, see it from a new perspective and learn from it. Together, we will give thought to your clients, yourself within the therapeutic relationship and the wider context of the work. For this to happen, both you and I need to demonstrate commitment and involvement.
I hope that, through supervision, you will develop professionally and personally, experiencing a supportive space to learn and feel held. I will trust in you as a practitioner and together we will ensure you are working safely and ethically, keeping well in your role and continually growing in confidence and competence.
I bring to my role as a supervisor, my experience as a counsellor with children, young people and adults, working within schools and mental health charities. I have offered short and long term counselling, within the voluntary sector and privately, working face to face, by phone and online. I have also been a manager of IAPT services and am a tutor on Level 2, 3 and 4 courses for counsellors working with children.
As with the counselling relationship, the supervisory relationship needs to feel right. If you think I may be a good fit for you, then please do get in touch.
I charge £55-£60 per hour for 1 1/2 hours per month, with concessions to be negotiated for students and those on a low wage.
